Forgotten Wisdom from the East ♻️
My neighbour loves gardening, and he kindly gifted me a whole bunch of loofah sponges
After using them for a year, I was genuinely impressed
They’re Almost Perfect
Easy & effective — They clean dishes and pans effortlessly, and even carry a pleasant natural scent
Fast-drying — The porous structure helps them dry quickly, reducing bacterial growth
Biodegradable 🌿 — This really matters to me
I admit I have a bit of an obsession with reducing waste and avoiding excessive plastic. Pollution deeply bothers meLoofah sponges come from nature, and return to it without harm. Since they’re compostable, I can replace them frequently without worrying
The Only Downside
They're not great as commercial products
They look rough and plain, and last very long while incredibly cheap
MUJI actually sells loofah sponges, but after comparing, I still prefer these rustic, homemade ones—they simply work better
I highly recommend giving loofah sponges a try
If you love them and have a garden, you can easily grow your own—for free
